‘ShootingStar’ (Ages 3 – 6)
- Children learn the fundamentals of gymnastics on bars, beam and vault, along with basic tumbling and a variety of motor skills to develop strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and social skills.
- Tumbling is perhaps one of the most comprehensive “lifestyle exercise programs” available to children, incorporating strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power and discipline.
- Because gymnasts aim to achieve a variety of positions to perform skills, flexibility is important in everyday life. Flexibility reduces tension, helps coordination, develops body awareness and promotes circulation. Because gymnastics provides fun skills that children can practice at home, they will be more likely to engage in physical activity even between gymnastics classes. The more we can get children up off the couch and moving, the healthier they will become.

Cheerleading Classes & Teams
‘Cheer Star Academy 1’ Classes (Ages 5+)
- Academy CheerStar 1 classes are designed to teach entry level cheer skills to the academy aged child, including basic tumbling, cheers, chants, dances and jumps. Emphasis is placed on correct technique and form and building the proper foundation for safety and advancement. Additional emphasis is directed toward developing the necessary strength and flexibility to enable the student to master the skills and to provide the physical basis needed for more advanced skills. Cheer Wisconsin’s cheer program is based on structured progressions. Cheer 1 encompasses basic tumbling – forward rolls, cartwheels, and round-offs. Back handsprings are not taught in Cheer 1.
- Cheerleading is a dynamic blend of tumbling, dance, and performance all in one sport! Cheerleading develops strength, flexibility, confidence and power and also teaches life lessons in teamwork, commitment, responsibility and camaraderie.
‘Cheer Star Academy 2’ Classes (Ages 5+)
- Academy Cheer 2 serves as the transition between Academy Cheer and our more advanced team programs. This class teaches the all around skills needed to try out for a cheer team. Students will refine their tumbling, form, lines, power, strength and consistency in execution. They will continue to refine their dance, jump and cheer skills. In addition, they will perfect cartwheels, round-offs, and kick-overs and will begin training standing back-handsprings and roundoff-back-handsprings.
- Cheerleading is a dynamic blend of tumbling, dance, and performance all in one sport! Cheerleading develops strength, flexibility, confidence and power and also teaches life lessons in teamwork, commitment, responsibility and camaraderie.
